FEPEDA General Assembly & Mgmt. Committee – 24-25 Oct. 2025

FEPEDA General Assembly & Mgmt. Committee – 24-25 Oct. 2025

The FEPEDA General Assembly (GA) was convened on October 25, 2025 in Toulouse, France, with hybrid participation both onsite and online. The Assembly was preceded by an initial Management Committee (MC) meeting on October 24—focused on preparation for the GA—and followed by a MC session dedicated to Bureau elections on October 25.

Sixteen representatives (14 attending in Toulouse and 2 joining online) from 13 European countries took part, while two members sent apologies due to scheduling conflicts.

Alongside standard agenda topics, including finances, budget, annual report, and action plan, delegates addressed several additional issues presented by country representatives:

  • Summary of EDF AGA (June 21–22, 2025, Vilnius, Lithuania)
  • FEPEDA’s planned participation in the upcoming European Day of Persons with Disabilities (December 4–5, 2025, Brussels, organized by the European Commission)
  • Announcements about the GPODHH Parents Conference and FCEI-Conference, both scheduled for June 2026 in Bad Ischl, Austria
  • The FEPEDA expansion strategy, which aims to welcome new members in coming years
  • Review of draft communication plan, with a working group formed for its further development and implementation
  • Updates on the organization’s website, Facebook page, and the upcoming newsletter (to be released by end of 2025)
  • Plans for webinars addressing youth exchange, parental leadership, and hearing loss prevention
  • Comparative analysis of family rights across Europe, including education and allowances
  • Thematic presentations and interactive exchanges:
    • Family caregiver perspectives, presented by members from France and Spain
    • Lessons learned from Sweden’s DHB-project “Between Two Worlds”

During the General Assembly, representatives from Italy, Estonia, and Lithuania were elected to the Management Committee. Subsequently, the Management Committee elected Daniel Lakso Tesak (Sweden) as President, succeeding André Cuenca (France), who served in this role for 4.5 years. André Cuenca now continues as Vice-President.

Congratulations to Daniel Lakso Tesak on his election as President.
